Did not see a Master Thread on the aLoft in Plano so I thought I would start one- apologies if I missed it.
The hotel is roughly at the Dallas North Tollway and Tennyson Parkway, which is basically right across from the Legacy area. Lots of shops, restaurants.
1) No club lounge - which may be standard for aLoft. The hotel is relatively small, only 5 floors.
2) Plenty of open and free parking
3) The lobby area was pretty busy with people on Sunday and Wednesday nights.
4) I had no issue with wifi- all is free and moves at a good speed. The only downside is you cannot connect for the entire length of your stay so you have to reconnect each day.
5) This is close to the tollway so if you are on the east side of the hotel you will get some traffic noise. (I was on the 5th floor towards the west side and all was well with me).
6) The gym is a bit smaller but had what I needed.
I travel to TX (Richardson part of Dallas) about 50% and either stay at the Westin at the Galleria, Westin Park Central or Sheraton by the Galleria. This hotel was much more enjoyable and easier to get in and out of. I felt like my commute to Richardson was roughly the same as either of the properties by the Galleria. This was a good pace of change for the week and I will be headed back to the property.
