Hi everyone,
This is my first FT post!
I live in Bromley which is just south of central London. I have great views of BA planes every day including 747's which is cool but there is one thing I cant work out.
From the top floor of my house I have a clear and un-obstructed view towards Canary Wharf and LCY airport.
On many occasions as I have been looking out the window and also walking down to the shops I see very low flying BA planes and a few others including the small Swiss air jets with 4 engines.
The BA planes look like Embraers and I always just presumed due to the low altitude (I feel as if i could jump up and touch them!) and the size of the planes that they were heading for LCY but they are always heading west towards LHR and i never see them turn back around.
Can anyone shed some light on what these planes are and where they are heading as its been puzzling me for ages and I really want to know! Do planes approach LHR at 2000 ft?
Thanks for reading and hopefully some answers! :)
