I tried to search but couldn't find the answer..so I apologize if this is a basic question.
Booked two award tickets on southwest.com for a roundtrip via airtran for a flight tomorrow passengers are one adult and one minor child. Two confirmation #'s per southwest policy, but when I tried to check in via southwest.com, I was unable to select seats for either passenger. I have done this in the past and am certain I was able to select seats. Called airtran and was told they could not help with seat assignments because I booked on southwest.com. Is this true...if so is this a change? Or are revenue tickets different than award tickets...because I am positive I selected seats in the past on revenue tickets? Either way I did not check them in in hopes of finding something at the airport counter.
Frustrating part is I paid the $10 fee per seat on the return ticket to avoid the headache...don't want wife and son separated...... they took my $20 and gave me seats so clearly seat assignments are possible. If this is possible why can't airtran select seats for me t-24 hours?
