My parents were on the routing DEL-AUH-LAX-LAS-DFW itinerary with DEL-AUH-LAX on Etihad and rest on American.
The DEL-AUH=LAX flight was delayed following which Etihad put my parents on United LAX-DFW non-stop.
However their luggage did not arrive on the United flight in DFW and it's been 2 days now.
I filed a claim with United baggage and they said to submit claim form to get necessary items reimbursed from United. They don't mention what kind of items neither does the form mention anything.
We had 4 bags missing, and I recollect the United phone agent saying $75 per bag, but then another agent on a follow-up call said $75 per person.
Also they said once we get the bags, we can ask for United travel vouchers.
Any experiences how much they would offer and if/what we should ask? Also is the travel voucher in addition to reimbursement of interim expenses or it's one or the other?
Also any experiences on what should we submit for reimbursement? Just toothbrush, toothpaste etc. or slippers, pajamas etc as well? What else if anything? I understand it's all subject to interpretation so checking as we don't want to get dinged later, as I'm hearing reports that United reimburses partially...
Thanks in advance for the help.
