Someone in a hotel thread asked about the best dim sum in Chinatown. My more general question is best dim sum in Singapore. When I google the question - I come up with several lists - including this one with 23 restaurants:

Sheesh. 23 "best" restaurants. Probably more dim sum restaurants than we have in my whole state which has close to 20 million people! Very hard to choose.
I am not sure that there is any special advantage in terms of dim sum in Chinatown since Singapore is about 75% ethnic Chinese in terms of population. But I could be wrong. Also - although I am fond of cart service (I enjoy dim sum but don't eat it often - so I tend to forget dishes when I can't see them "up close and personal") - I think it's pretty much disappearing in most places these days. Could be wrong about that too.
So what are your favorites? From the lowest end cheap hawker places to the big blowout spreads (often at hotels on weekends best I can tell). Stuff in the middle too. Robyn
