I've just read the post below in the Annoyed of San Francisco topic. I did reply there but thought again so as not to take that one off topic and opened this one instead.
G-BOAC raises an interesting point, there are certain airports I look forward to using because of the staff and others I dread!
I'm always happy (sometimes even look forward) to using certain airports whilst dreading others. I'm making my choices based on airport staff - the hassles of security, immigration, shopping and suchlike are outside the scope of my thoughts! Here's a few for starters:
Favourites
LHR T5 - specifically because of the CCR staff
IAD - Special Services are great and always seen to know when I'm travelling, and then there's Betty in the First Dining who always has a cheerful smile and welcome when you arrive. The staff in the First Class Lounge are also great here.
JFK - again the Special Service and CCR Team are great.
LAX - the BA team can be good at TBIT, the old lounge was a little unpersonable but the check-in team were usually good. The staff over at T4 Flagship are great!
Least Favourite
LAS - BA staff appear disinterested and tired and the lounge just too busy and uncomfortable. The lounge staff however are generally very efficient and friendly.
MAN - Grumpy check-in staff whose attitude isn't always in the correct place.
