A couple of days ago I was denied T3 fast track as a BA Gold because I didn't have my card. I tried to explain but the attendant wasn't having it. Fortunately a supervisor walked by and solved the situation. However she agreed that I needed my card but was prepared to look at my BA app and passport to confirm who I was. She confirmed it wasn't a new development and that having Gold/emerald on BP wasn't enough. Strange as it is enough to get in the lounge.
