Ritz Carlton CC delayed because no RC number?

My husband just got approved for the RC 140k offer on Sunday ($395 annual fee OUCH). Unfortunately, when they asked us for a RC number, he said he didn't have one (he doesn't, he only has a MR acct). I didn't realize they were treated as one and the same number. The rep said they would set one up for us. If he gets a separate RC number, I bet we will have to combine with his Marriott at some point so that his accounts are straightened out.

Unfortunately, this has now resulted in a delay, on the RC side of things. My husband called to follow up on Monday and again on Tuesday and still no movement. It's nuts that it is taking so long.

Our hurry is that we are going on a trip to Rhode Island and leaving on Friday. We are staying at Marriott hotels from Saturday to Wednesday(2 different hotels to qualify for MegaBonus promo for 2nd paid stay). Ideally, we use his RC Gold status for the perks and the bonus points.

Any suggestions? Should we call tomorrow morning and offer Chase his MR number? (he did have the Chase MR credit card that he cancelled several months ago). I don't even care now if he doesn't get his CC in time for the trip (although certainly this will help meet min spend) - but sure want his Gold status! I'm sure the physical card won't get here in time.

To add to the complications, we currently have reservations at 2 Marriott hotels, both under my name. Of course, rates have gone up on both so not a simple matter of rebooking them under his name. My game plan now is to talk to front desk at each hotel and ask them to credit the stay to my husband's account instead of mine.

Anything else I should consider?
