GUC DL Metal VA Code

Hi DL forum!
Did a quick search but couldn't find an answer.
Can a GUC be applied to a DL metal flight but sold as VA flight number?
From my understanding VA code on DL metal earns like VA but wanted to know if that would prevent the usage of a GUC?
