AA Refuses to change Time Zone for hold on AA.com

I currently have a hold on AA.com for a one-way LHR-JFK flight [in B inventory] which was set to expire at 11:59PM British Standard Time—for a itinerary in 2015.

I called both AA.com webservices and the Platinum number immediately after putting the reservation on hold on AA.com:

I called AA.com web services and told the agent that I held a reservation on AA.com and it has a BST expiration and kindly requested that it be switched to US Eastern Time for the reservation. The AA.com web services said they couldn’t do it for already held reservations.

I then called the Platinum number, and the agent said that she couldn’t change the time zone either.

I’ve read on FT that posters were successful previously in getting time zones changed on tickets held on AA.com to the time zone of their residence, but appears this is no longer.
