Back in August we went out to Brussels with BA on Friday night (rtn Sunday) so I thought Id scribe a mini TR. I often take the pictures but just forget to actually get my thoughts on paper as it was.
Check in on Friday night (even for CE passengers) was horrendous I dont know why BA dont have more staff on? I guess that this has been another service enhancement. I havent been in the North lounge in T5 for a few months, it was pretty quiet for a Friday night and the offering seems largely unchanged in recent months. As it was my friends birthday I did this time ask for some champagne which was nicely served to our table. Starting a weekend away with some bubbles always seems appropriate.
Outbound on BA404, it was an A319 and CE had yet to be enhanced, we were in row 1 of Club Europe. It is a very short flight down to Brussels but I do like starting a trip in CE.
A hot towel service started proceedings followed by the controversial Monopole and a chicken tikka salad. If Im honest we were already full from the lounge but the salad was one of the better ones Ive had onboard although the chicken was if anything, a little dry. The dessert was lovely (cant quite remember what it was!) CE consisted of 3 or 4 rows of which there were maybe 6 of us partaking. The curtains were drawn.

As soon as we were up, we were down.
Brussels was lovely for a weekend away; Id recommend it, good food, beer and generally a nice vibe there a photo of the flower carpet that was there back in August
.
Already time to come home
BA have their own lounge at Brussels, this is a pretty large lounge although I was expecting more on offer some salad items / rolls plus drinks was as far as it went, some soup would have been good. When in Belgium I thought it would be rude not finish the trip with a few of their beers (more available too).

Inbound BA399 this is the first time in a good few years that I have been in Euro Traveller (mainly due to living overseas), I couldnt justify the extra cost to be in CE on the homeward bound leg for such a short journey. CE was maybe 6 rows and pretty busy, maybe 10-12 people up front, after we took off the curtains were closed / hot towels handed out and I had to enjoy this from my seat, 9B!
The back of the plane was pretty packed, maybe 80% or more which is obviously good for BA. The service was relatively slow and I was a little underwhelmed by the offering a drink and the smallest packet of crisps I think I have ever seen (15g) or some nuts? I even thought on this short leg there would be a small sandwich/roll/muffin? The upside of this was that I managed to grab a quick siesta before waking over London.

All in all a good trip with BA no outstanding service but then again, generally solid service.
