Every time I arrive at SYD with a suitcase containing anything that are not normally fragile but they won't withstand being dropped from 12 ft, but exceedingly well-packaged, they manage to damage at least one of the contents.
It's impressive because those items have not suffered any damage when NOT going through SYD. So, the only common thread here is SYD.
However, it is not even airline-dependent as such (although QF flights are obviously affected). It is Qantas Baggage Handling at SYD that is the common thread here.
Why is it that they cannot treat bags with a little more respect and care when they can do so everywhere else? Or is there equipment used by Qantas Baggage Handling at SYD that has a higher likelihood of damaging passengers' belongings?
Anything you can suggest (other than not checking bags in or packing anything other than soft items in checked baggage) that may encourage them to address the issue?
