Hello all. Wonder if you might be kind enough to offer suggestions or a recommended itinerary for my upcoming 4 night trip to Curacao with a 16 year old. She's never left the country, has been on a plane once to Arizona, and her only experience with vacation is the Outer Banks in North Carolina. My goal was to allow her an opportunity to do or see things that she wouldn't ordinarily have access to.
Though I've been to Curacao once, I'm geographically challenged and therefore don't know how much we'll be able to squeeze in given the size of the island/country. We will be staying at the Hilton, which I believe we can rent a car from (I hope). I've run some activities by her to gauge interest (or fear) and looks like we're wide open.
1. She expressed interest in SCUBA but neither of us are certified and given our limited time, snorkeling will suffice just fine. We do not have our own gear however.
2. Swimming with the dolphins (for her, not me). The aquarium looks pretty interesting. I know the aquarium doesn't require tickets in advance but perhaps the swim does?
2. Parasailing (saw there's a two man parasail, have done the single but not the double, that's kind of cool) and/or Jet Skiing
3. ATV or Buggy Adventure (Prins ATV?)
There's also Hato caves, beaches, natural pools or Jacuzzi's, Atlantis adventures, the ostrich farm, and so much more. Any ideas on what shouldn't be missed or what perhaps might be better placed further down on the list of potential things to do given our timeframe and/or home base?
Places to dine would be great too. Last time I was there I noticed there was a beautiful fireworks display over the water which I'd like to catch again. Can't remember the name of the place we ate tho, rats. I've been instructed to stay out of jewelry stores, double rats.
