My mother, my sister and I have a 5 hour layover in DTW on 01/01/15 when flying NAS - LHR with DL. Not the best routing but it was considerably cheaper than any other and a small fortune cheaper than the direct NAS - LHR with BA.
My question is in 2 parts, firstly where is the best place to eat dinner in DTW? We will be arriving DTW at approx 1700 and fly out at approx 2200. From what I have read, Vino Volo in the international terminal seems to be the best option. I appreciate that this is a subjective opinion but I'd be greatful for your thoughts. Secondly, is 5 hours enough time to get into downtown Detroit and more importantly, get a nice dinner? My mother isn't keen on rushing and as I don't know Detroit at all, I wouldn't want to do this if timings were going to be tight. This is only my second post on FT and I'm throwing myself on your mercy. Thanks in advance for any help.
