Which Plan to use: Delta, British or Alaska?

Hi all,

I live in Seattle and am beginning to travel regularly international for my job. I want to make sure I'm using the best mileage program to get the most upgrades, as my company will not pay for more than Economy class. Even free Economy+ is a benefit.

The locations I'll be traveling to will most often include London 2 times per year (best served by British and Delta) and Hyderabad India 2 times per year (best served by British and Emirates). Periodically - 1 time per year - I'll likely visit Beijing or Tokyo (with Delta or Delta/ANA respectively).

It seems like Delta is going to be the most typical carrier. I also want to avoid Emirates since I've heard their economy to India is terrible. Also, as I'm in Seattle most my domestic travel (2-3 times per year) is on Alaska. Alaska is also code share partners with both British and Delta. Lastly, my company prefers Delta for travel because it is typically a few hundred dollars less than British.

What is this group's feeling on which mileage plan I should allocate most mileage to? Should I put it all on one - say Alaska - and hope that I get upgrades on Delta and British? Or should I allocate miles to them individually and hope I accrue enough for status? Or something else?

Thanks for any suggestions?
