Hi All - This is a bit of a complicated problem so please bear with me while I explain.
Due to company meeting, I booked a round trip ticket on the Air NZ website from Taipei to Auckland with the routing being:
TPE - NRT on ANA
NRT - AKL on NZ
AKL - HKG on NZ
HKG - TPE on CX
Unfortunately due to a last minute change of plans on meeting location, I now need to be in Sydney instead of Auckland for those few days. Not wanting to change the original ticket, I booked another roundtrip from AKL - SYD on NZ.
Based on the fact that both my tickets are NZ, and ANA is also a *A carrier, I should be able to check my bags through from TPE all the way to SYD on the outbound right? When I called NZ to confirm, they said I couldn't. Not sure if the agent was wrong or there is some issue with AKL airport where you must clear immigration?
