Thoughts on delayed luggage..

Am I overreacting?

I am an Executive Platinum who was flying business class from Orlando to Tangier, Morocco. I paid $200 extra to have a stroller checked. When I arrive, two bags were missing (The stroller and a suitcase.) I filled out a form and four days later I received a call that I could come pick up my luggage at the airport. This irked me since I am staying 140 miles away in a different city. Due to a personal issue, I cannot go pick up the luggage for another week and beyond picking up the luggage their is no reason for me to return to Tangier.

My husband and I now have to make the 4 hour trip and when I contacted American customer services stating I think I should be refunded the $200 fee I paid (just like I would get from UPS or Fed EX if I paid to have an overnight package sent and it arrived 4 days later.) I was curtly told that this was non-refundable and not Americans policy.

I am so irritated with American who I generally have very positive experiences with but I wanted to see if I was overreacting.
