How far behind ETD does a flight need to get before it’s cancelled?

Flying on NZ175 tomorrow to Perth. ZK-NZJ is scheduled to operate today’s service and tomorrow’s.

Over the last few flights, NZJ has been getting seriously off schedule. Today’s 1.35 pm flight was pushed back to 4.15 because of late incoming from Taipei. Which was late because the outbound from AKL was late.

But now NZ175 isn’t expected to leave until 6.30 pm tonight - five hours late. It’s been on the ground since arriving from Taipei just after 1 pm. It needs to get to PER, turn round, fly back to AKL as NZ176, and get turned around again to depart at 1.35 tomorrow - not going to happen.

There have been several other significant delays on the Perth flights this last week - one of three and a half hours, one of four hours and another of 75 minutes.

Just wondering whether I’m more likely to be delayed or cancelled tomorrow if they can’t make a dent in this overrun.
