I booked an SUV for 5 days through their platform, for pick up at the Sixt Rent a Car office at Riyadh International Airport. The total cost was 704.62 Euros, which I was willing to pay for a 7-seater vehicle.
Upon arriving at the airport, I was informed by the Sixt agent that local laws prohibit driving with a license that will expire in less than 6 months, and as a result, I was denied the rental. The crucial issue here is that EconomyBookings did not mention this regulation anywhere in their booking instructions.
I immediately contacted EconomyBookings to explain the situation and requested a refund, but they refused. They claimed that my license must be valid for over a year, which it isIve held my license for over 4 years. Despite providing this clarification, they continue to deny any responsibility and have refused to refund my payment. After several follow-ups, they stopped responding to my emails altogether.
It is deeply concerning that a company would knowingly charge for a service they failed to provide, then deflect responsibility when their own instructions were insufficient.
