Having trouble getting platinum card (personal or business)

Hi! Long-time gold (personal) holder, excellent credit.

i just tried applying for the platinum (personal), but it told me I wouldn’t be eligible for the 90K welcome bonus due to my history. I thought you were allowed to go upward? Or do I need to cancel my gold first?

Also, I tried the business platinum. My household has an EIN as a “business” due to having paid a nanny and run taxes in past (Via Schedule H), but there’s never been any “income” or “revenue” on it - the AmEx site is requiring at least 4 digits of revenue to move to next screen, and I don’t want to lie.

Any know any workarounds for either? Would calling help?
