There are a few threads in search about this connection, but my context is subtly different so I'd love any thoughts!
I had booked LHR-HEL-OSL-HEL for today, returning to LHR tomorrow morning. I have some commitments in London, and so thought I'd spend the day in Oslo, take the late flight back to Helsinki for the night, then the first flight for a A350 snooze. Got to make BA Gold somehow...
LHR-HEL was late in and so I missed my connection. No other HEL-OSL flight available would get me there in time for my B2B return and hence onward to LHR. At the transfer desk I explained this and said that as I just a hotel booked already I just needed to make sure my return to London wasn't scrubbed if I didn't fly the first leg from Oslo.
1) The transfer desk said I'd be able to get a refund for the HEL-OSL-HEL legs not used which makes sense
2) I presume this precludes anyway of getting tier points or ORC for those legs?
3) Is there any EU261 or compensation open here? I will still reach my return destination on time, but had no way of making the journey to Oslo.
