Part cancelling an avios booking

Hi there

A few weeks ago I booked transatlantic J flights (on EI metal) for myself +1.

Can I cancel their ticket & leave mine intact?

Can I fly the outbound on mine and then cancel the inbound or do I’ve to make it a one way booking before I depart?
