Maybe you all already know this, but I was shocked. I have my own Amex Platinum card, and am a manager on my husband's business gold. I see both cards on my online login. I made a transfer of MR points to Emirates from my platinum card, no problem. I then went to transfer the points from the gold card, and I had to link my account again--only it would not link. I called Amex and after an hour on the phone, they told me Emirates only allows one MR account to be linked and there was no other way for me to transfer over the other half of the points I needed for my flight. They also refused to move the points from the gold card to my Platinum card, even though I have access to them in my account, with my name on them, and can move them anywhere else I wanted. I did not realize any of this and am extremely annoyed about it. I hope I can save someone else the grief.
I just transferred the rest of the points I need from Chase URs, but it has not been instantaneous the way Amex MRs were. Has anyone had problems linking both Amex and Chase accounts in their name with their Emirates accounts? Feeling nervous there is some other rule I did not realize and at least one blogger is claiming only one transferrable points account of any kind can be linked with Emirates. I also see others saying they had no problems linking one of each kind of account with their Emirates account. Any data points anyone can contribute?
