Hi: I apologize if this was asked and answered before -- but I could not find it, (how many times have I seen this phrase...)
so I am raising a question here:
When you sign up for a new credit card from AMEX (or the upgraded card offer, like I have) giving you the threshold of a few thousand $$ spent in order to get some $$ back... WHO ACTUALLY PAYS FOR IT?
I am asking because today, I see in my transaction history that I received credit back (presumably) from a hotel restaurant where I stopped at 10 days ago for a glass of wine. I paid $13 for the wine but then I received $200 back from the same merchant today. Which makes me feel bad... Is it the merchant who happens to be on the spot of crossing the limit of my qualifying spend to eat the cost of my reward???
