Q points collection year end

Hi folks,

I suspect that the answer to my question is probably obvious, however I am struggling to find it and so grateful for any insight.

I joined Privilege Club on 19 January 2024, and having travelled a fair bit on business this year, I reached silver in June, and am now just a couple of Q points short of gold. I have a trip booked which is starting on 9 January 2025, and so I'll accumulate enough Q points to reach gold membership on the first sector over to Doha.

My question is how does this effect my accrual year, do the points reset after that flight? or after both flights on 9 January?, and do I then have a new collection year end date of 8 January the following year?

If I were to purchase the couple of Q points that I need in order to qualify for gold now, would that reset my points collection year now, and so it would run from 28 November 2024 to 27 November 2025?, thus my flights on 9 January would be credited to next year? If this is the case, I am tempted to purchase the couple of Q points now in order to push those flights into the next year.
