So we have EI plated/issued business class tickets, DUB-LHR on EI metal and then LHR-LAX on an EI codeshare operated by BA. Obviously there is no business between Dublin and London, so it is booked in economy (Y bucket). I assumed that the economy segment would.still enable us to use business check in and the lounge. We used the business check in no with problem but we're told.that "your lounge will be in London" and assorted other things about this being someone else's ticket so we were not entitled to use the lounge in Dublin. It is an EI ticket and I am not sure the lounge attendant had it right. I'd probably book the ticket differently in the future if that is indeed EI's lounge policy on a business class ticket that starts with a segment that offers only economy. I've flown a lot and it is usually the fare basis code of the underlying ticket that determines lounge access.
