In doing a search for flights from MDT (Harrisburg, PA) to the Bay Area for next year, I found a huge jump in price in late January, right around January 27. Using ITA Matrix I found flight options on January 20 for $309 but on January 27 it was $1409. (These are round trips.) Drilling down, I found that on the 20th AA is included as an option but on the 27th they are not.
(This is directly relevant because my brother, who lives near Harrisburg, is trying to plan a trip to the Super Bowl in Santa Clara next year if the Eagles qualify again. We know we can't look at actual flights until 330 days out but he is poking around now to get some perspective.)
