How long after a returned payment can I apply and get approved for an Amex card?

...Assuming all other factors are good?
An automatic payment got returned due to insufficient fund. I manually paid it right away after realizing it. The payment got there on time. A day later, I got a mailer for a Biz Plat. I applied and got auto rejected. How long should I wait before reapplying?
