I recently had a damaged baggage case where my bag broke and the items inside went missing. I submitted a damaged bag + lost property with the receipts attached.
However, an overcoat worth £840 was deemed as a valuable. Whilst it is certainly not cheap, there were no guidelines issued from BA regarding the criteria of a valuable item. A plain rejection without an explanation of what constitutes a valuable seems to be inadequate.
