Confused by Qatar First class award availability/cost

Hi all,

Looking to book some award flights for 2 people using Avios. Current looking at NRT - CDG, via DOH. When doing some preliminary searches, I found two confusing things:

1. There appears to be First class availability (albeit on the expensive Flexi fare), but only when booking through the older(?) interface? One interface shows no availability in first, and the other does show it. I have to do some fiddling with destinations in order to show the working interface.
2. The First fare appears to be identically priced to the business fare, both in terms of Avios and Yen. What’s the deal there?

I guess my questions are:

1. Are these first tickets legit, or a glitch in the system (since they weren't available through one interface, and seemingly cost the same as business)?
2. Would I get Al Safwa access using them if the first leg is only business? I know of cases where the AS lounge has previously gotten a bit funny refusing people on technicalities when they have what appears to be a valid First ticket.
