When my LAXHEL flight was cancelled months before departure (LAX no longer served that day of the week), isn’t AY required by EU261 to provide alternative transport even if that means on a different carrier? For example, they could have provided LAX DFW HEL on the same day. I know that I’m not allowed to receive “compensation”, but I thought they at least had to provide similar, rerouted transport, or at least reimburse me for the $600 ticket on LH. I never actually received the email from AY saying the flight was cancelled, but that’s a different matter. I ended up having to purchase a ticket on LH.
I submitted this to AY but of course they said they have no responsibility as “we gave notice of the flight cancellation more than 14 days out”.
