Hello: I have Global Entry and know that I can use it at Dublin to connect from Italy to the US. However, I still have some questions:
1. I am booked on a flight from FCO via DUB to JFK on Aer Lingus and then to SFO on AS (all flights in one booking). There is only 75 min for me to go through TSA and immigration check at DUB. The travel date is June 12, which is already high season for transatlantic travel. I will travel in business class, if this makes any difference. Will I have to remove my shoes and pull laptops out for TSA security check, even though I have TSA Pre? Last year during transit in YYZ, I also traveled in business class but there was no TSA Pre check. It was inconvenient to have to remove my shoes, liquids, and laptops, but I had plenty of transit time. Due to implanted medical devices, I have to be patted down. So, this adds extra time.
2. Suppose I don't make my JFK flight. What's the likelihood that Aer Lingus will put me on the SFO flight, which leaves more than 1 hour later than the JFK flight? I understand that this depends on factors such as availability on the SFO flight. I have no status with Aer Lingus and the flight was booked with AS.
Thank you very much in advance. All advice is welcome.
