Delta called me up to ask me to take a different flight from the one I was booked on. $300 or 30K miles. I wasn't exactly attached to the itinerary so took it. But was a little confused because the flight looked only about 70% sold, so don't quite know why they had to reduce the seat cap. But it's SNA, so imagine it must have something to do with noise rules. This was on an E175 -- so maybe they need to be able to reduce weight to climb more steeply out of SNA before hitting the rich houses? Anybody have insights?
Also, FWIW, I took the $300 (expires in 1 year), but in retrospect think I should've probably gone with the miles. What do other people here typically do?
