Was on the flight tonight. There was some concern whether the power outage in Spain and Portugal would bite us and it did. Got the announcement just before entering Spanish airspace that we were diverting. Since we didn't have enough fuel to return to Helsinki, we turned around and diverted to CDG for fuel. On the way there crew asked if whether anyone wanted off in CDG but with the understanding we were on our own dime and about 10 of us bailed out in CDG. Since I was on an old style BA tier point run and was just going to RON and then travel GVA the next morning, I bailed. The aircraft landed at 2350, parked at a remote stand and I was able to get off the aircraft around 0100. Got the last room at the Hilton and booked the TVG to Geneva the next afternoon. There are multiple diverted aircraft at CDG. The aircraft departed as AY78Q at 01:58 and continued back to HEL with an estimated arrival around 0400. Hope to make a travel disruption claim with credit card to get some money back. I wonder how AY will credit the flight to BA.
