Any experience with AA YRUP TATL fares?

For an upcoming short notice CW/Business TATL ex-US, I'm being offered a BA R fare, or alternatively I can book the AA code for those flights. The AA fare code is YRUP, it is titled "RT-Economy Non-Discountable" and states "These fares apply for First/Business/Economy class service". The fare books into CW, D class I believe.

Does anyone have experience with these fares? Will I earn full CW Avios and TP on this fare? Also, I've heard stories about AA domestic YUP fares where, in the event of a cancellation, etc., AA are permitted to tell the passenger that they have only purchased an economy fare with an instant upgrade, and so AA can revoke the upgrade and reaccommodate in Y. Am I in danger of this?

The AA fare is nice because it's 5-10% less than BA fares for the same flights, and it's more flexible. However, it's still $6000+, so if all that potentially gets me is an economy seat and TPs, then no thanks!

Thanks for the advice.
