Booking vacation through AMEX Concierge

Hi All,

I am planning some vacation in may and trying to figure out if booking through Amex concierge may be interesting.

The villa I want to book is sold out according to the hotel. However it is still available on Amex website. I know the hotel does lot of overbooking and then put their clients to the nearest hotel which does not offer the same amenties.

Would you think, that, booking through Amex (this is an Amex Plat Canada), that I will get more chance to get it? If not what would be my options?

Let's say I go to the hotel and am told the room is not available, may I contact Amex to make different arrangements since this is the only type of room I want? Would they rebook me in a different hotel even if more expensive?
