It is going to be my first mileage run, though it is also going to be a vacation with the GF :)

The fare for this route is available on many many dates. I also booked another one in Jan. 2015.

I hope that I will survive the flights. For those experienced mileage runners, your inputs, to help me avoid mistakes or disasters, would be highly appreciated.

For now, I have too questions:

1. How likely will I not arrive at CGK on time? How long could the delay be, one whole day?

2. On the return trip, since I have to clear the US immigration, it is highly likely that I will misconnect. I would actually prefer to just finish the trip at LAX, without losing the miles for LAX-EWR-SNA, of course ;) Is it possible through claiming ORC? How can I achieve that?
