This is bizarre. I am not sure what to do. Would appreciate some help from experienced ANA travelers.
My travel plans changed. Instead of stopping in Tokyo NRT, I need to continue to Nagoya. I get into Tokyo at 16:00 with UA.
Based on UA's recommendation, I bought a ticket from ANA to fly NRT-NGO on NH339 at 17:55, premium class.
First tried to do this via the North American web site. Did not work. Tried the Japan website (in English). It let me reserve, but then told me that I had until tomorrow to pay.
OK, no problem. I pay immediately. Payment is confirmed. But nothing happens. No follow-up email of any kind.
I called ANA NA office. They could see my reservation, but could not tell me much because it was made on the Japanese web site. And gave me a 4 digit confirmation number.
This is a problem because when I check in for my flight to Tokyo, I wanted to tell the desk to check my luggage all the way to Nagoya, and hopefully get me a boarding pass for my ANA flight. UA premier line told me this should be possible, as long as I have a confirmation number. I assume they meant a regular, 6-digit confirmation number, not what I have.
Tried to retrieve my reservation via ANA web site, and then at least print an itinerary that shows my seat number (which I was able to assign - 1K). But no luck. This message shows up:
I don't have an ANA number. I did not even figure out how to input my MileagePlus number.
Am I being paranoid here? Should I call ANA domestic reservation (in Japan) when they open shop?
