AA Complaint Contact

I'm not a frequent AA flier, so not too versed in their policies, etc. I searched a little here and didn't find much.

Short version of story, flying OKC-DFW-SJD RT two weeks ago. $800 ticket value.

Major ice issues in OKC, 3 hour delay, miss connection in DFW. Too late for any other AA connections even though it was only 1PM. The usual rebook on the app option completely disappeared because I missed my leg. Wasn't even on the itinerary anymore. I tried online support and calls, no help because the leg had been deleted. The AA customer service line in DFW was HOURS long. So I had no option to rebook via AA and didn't want to miss a chance to start vacation/miss flights the next day.

So I took it upon myself to book an Aeromexico flight, roughly $500 one way just to end the long day.

Contacted AA support finally got through to someone on chat, they sent me link to the refund request for the missed leg, said the leg disappearing and inability to rebook was an error on their end, so they'd cover the difference in leg value and new flight. Wasn't expecting that, but ok.

Fast forward. I file the claim. AA formal support says the DFW-SJD leg was only worth $68 and no other comp at all. Ummmm what? I filed formal complaint to the "complaint" email and got a long winded nothing response.

What should my next step to escalate be? Who else is there to contact? The money is whatever, I'm just so annoyed at their response and the lol $68 more than anything.
