Hello - I had originally posted in the Cathay Pacific forum, however, feel it may be better placed here. Looking for help from those with knowledge of connecting through BKK airport from Bangkok Airways or other domestic carriers to/from Cathay or other international carriers.
We are hoping to fly from Krabi (KBV) to Hong Kong (HKG) via BKK, proposed route below:
KBV to BKK; Bangkok Airways; arriving in BKK 11:35am
BKK to HKG; Cathay Pacific; departing at 13:05pm
We would plan to book this all on one ticket for miles via a oneworld partner airline.
We understand that Bangkok Airways is able to check through baggage and print Cathay boarding passes in Krabi if all on one ticket as per: https://www.bangkokair.com/through-check-in. However, slightly concerned that the minimum connection time stated at BKK (via Bangkok Airways website) is 90mins flat which is the exact time of our proposed connection.
If anyone has particular experience of connecting through BKK to/from Cathay or to other carriers it would be much appreciated to hear whether this would be cutting it too fine? I suppose if the first flight is delayed it leaves very little time to make this connection, however, there are multiple later flights to HKG that same day so we would hope there would be the chance to be rebooked or at worse purchase a fare on the day.
Additionally, after arriving in BKK, and assuming luggage is checked through and boarding pass is in hand, are there many steps in transit required before proceeding to the CX flight?
Thank you very much for any help in advance.
