There has been some discussion of this in the main thread, but I thought it would be interesting to have a separate thread for Southwest loyalists: How will you change your travel habits under the new Southwest?
I'll start: As a CP holder and A-List member for the last five years, I have often gone out of my way to fly on Southwest even when others had better options in order to re-qualify for AL. Those days are over. I will continue working for the CP for as long as they offer it because it's such a valuable benefit. But I'm not sure I will even bother to qualify for A-List. My home airport is one of the many mid-sized airports where Southwest is the largest carrier, so I can't swear them off.
I am so irate that as of right now, if Southwest and other airlines are comparable for a given trip, I will probably choose other airlines. The other airlines hate us but they are upfront about the fact that they hate us. Southwest hates us but pretends to like us. I prefer the flying experience on Delta anyway. I even like the regional jets.
