I know it is a weird question, but I think there are enough AvGeeks (and definitely a lot of frequent travelers) in this message board that may have some input to my dilemma. I have some vacation (5-6 days) in July, and I cannot pick between flying to Hokkaido (not flying SQ, but instead BR), or flying Suites to SYD.
I'm flying around Asia that month, and I have 5 days or so that is still unaccounted for. I'll be in MNL during that time. From MNL, the return ticket is about USD5,600, with Suites on only one of the legs. (If it were just business roundtrip all the way, it is about USD2.6k). Never been to SYD and I know it will be winter that time which I would not mind.
Alternative option is to fly to CTS via TPE on BR, and this would save me a LOT of money, because even a business ticket is about USD1.8K. I have been to Japan many times but never been to Hokkaido. (I could not care about snow because there is plenty during winter where I come from. LOL)
I am an AvGeek and have been on the A380 several times, but not on SQ and not in Suites. The draw for me is the unique layout. However, I do have ET's Residence on my bucket list, which I do see is an even more upscale version of SQ's.
The price of $2.6k roundtrip in business to SYD seems a good price, but the main draw requires me to come up with another $3K (to be in Suites)! Not sure if I should just go see Hokkaido and save my money for the Residence later?
I would like to hear from people who have flown in Suites, as well as those who have traveled to both Australia and Japan.
