Gymnasia Isrotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel [Master Thread]

The newest addition to the Marriott family and the second Isrotel after the Pública in Herziliya. Why the two hotels are in two different brands kind of baffles me, since the two hotels are so similar.

I chose this hotel because it was offering a opening with Marriott special of only around 90 USD per night, which is very cheap in Israel, particularly when it comes to Marriott hotels.

At check in they seemed to be still unsure about procedure. If I understood them correctly (I barely understand any Hebrew), they were not sure how to handle an Ambassador member and if I was eligible for an upgrade. Besides offering points they did not directly recognize my status.

They did give me an envelope with an invitation to have two glasses of wine in the rooftop bar. The first night the rooftop bar was closed due to renovation of the floor. Hopefully it will be open tonight. It should be open until 22:00 generally.

The room that I got is street facing on the 4th floor with a balcony overlooking the Tel Aviv stock exchange. I am guessing that this is one of the best rooms types, considering they do not appear to have any suites.

I took the train from the airport and walked about 20 minutes. The walk is very uneven through areas of construction, so I recommend it only with minimal luggage. You can get closer by connecting to a bus, but I wanted the fresh air.

You only get the choice of points or points. The breakfast is in an third-party restaurant and can therefore not be offered as an option. It costs 140 ILS per person.

The pool is on the rooftop and is open to the Israel-typical early closing time of 17:00.

A beach bag with a thin towel and a notebook were on the bed as gifts. There are power outlets and USB-A ports at the bed.

Like the Pública the closet space reminds me of upscale Moxy. The television is very large considering the small size of the room.

I am not a big fan of the sink being outside of the bathroom.

The toilet shower space is compact but otherwise clean and spacious enough.

The rooftop pool.
