Aloha! This morning I purchased a HNL-SFO-PIT trip. After receiving the confirmation I got the typical "you can do a paid upgrade for these individual flights" screen. I accepted the offer for HNL-SFO but declined for SFO-PIT thinking that I'd apply points for it later. When I went back to apply the points, the only option I was given for the upgrade was paid, not points or miles. I contacted the chat folks on the website and was told that I should have accepted the offer at purchase and am no longer able to apply points. I escalated things to a supervisor and after saying hello the chat was promptly ended. Is this a normal situation? I've never encountered this before and I'm not sure how to move forward. Any advice?
