I apologize for the kinda nondescript title, but I just had two experiences I wanted to post, and decided that a nondescript title was better than two separate posts.
First, when looking to reboook an SNA-DFW flight, switching from AA 1660 at 10:25am to the next later flight, I discovered that the next later flight is AA 3111 at 11:31am. I wonder if the person assigning flight numbers did that for fun or if it's just a coincidence. In either event, the agent and I got a kick out of it. (Because this is part of a RTW itinerary, I needed a phone agetn to help me.) What other fun flight numbers have you experienced?
Next, I wanted to push back my DFW-MSY flight, which is a separate reservation. Not needing the agents help, I did this myself on the app. What I found humorous this time is that there were several other flights available for a $10 price difference, but the app also offered to keep me on the same flight I was on for $75! I declined that offer and chose a later flight.
All of that having been said, when I opted to pay the $10 price difference to go on the later flight, it offered to put me in economy for the $10 price difference, or in first for a $75 price difference. For a 1-hour flight and a good chance of a free upgrade, I never choose to pay for first, but with only a $65 difference between economy and first I decided to pay it this time. And now as I type this, I wonder if the $75 the app was gonna charge me to stay on the same flight was actually what it was going to charge me to stay on the same flight but upgrade to first. Has anyone else experienced this using the "change flight" function on the app (as opposed to the more normal upgrade offer on the app)?
Ok, you all can go back complaining about silly stuff while I continue to post about silly stuff.
