I saved $342 on Hyatt stays with rebookings

Long-time FT lurker and Hyatt Globalist here. If you like being spend efficient like me, you probably spend way too much time checking your reservations in the Hyatt app looking for a price drop. In January, I was checking 13 Hyatt bookings every day and it felt like a full time job. My daytime job is a software engineer and I love tinkering, so I started testing out different browser automation frameworks that followed these steps for me:
  1. Go to www.hyatt.com/reservation/find
  2. Enter my reservation details
  3. Click "Modify Room Type"
  4. Click on "Keep Room"
  5. Compare the "Total Cash Per Room" vs. my current rate
  6. Check cancellation policy to see if it can still be changed
  7. Confirm rebooking if rate is lower and I'm within cancellation policy
It took a bunch of trial and error but I finally figured out a workaround to Hyatt's anti-bot detection and keep this task running successfully every day! I'm pretty proud that it now checks all my Hyatt bookings twice a day day, so I don't need to anymore. In 2 months of testing, I've gotten 4 rebookings for me across 3 stays that have saved me $342 in total. Exact same room type and confirmation number. Not bad for a hobby project.

I'm currently offering my tool 100% free to use for the next 3 months. All I ask is that you tell me if I help you save money on a rebooking and let me know if there's anything it can do better. Thanks for your time and looking forward to hearing your feedback!
