Hello everyone,
This is a first-time experience for me with Qatar Airways and I fly with them hundreds of times. On May 8th, QR744 from Boston to Doha was cancelled due to technical difficulties after several hours of delays at the airport. Eventually, the flight was officially cancelled, and we were advised to make our own hotel arrangements.
Qatar Airways mentioned that a recovery flight may operate in the early hours of May 9th on the repaired aircraft, but in the meantime, I was rebooked on Etihad Airways from Boston to Abu Dhabi on May 10th.
Given these exceptional circumstances, and the fact that I was rebooked by QR onto a non-oneworld partner airline, does anyone have experience with whether Qmiles and Qpoints would still be credited in such cases? Id appreciate any insights or similar experiences from the community.
Thanks in advance!
