LYR - Immediate same plane turn possible?
Is it possible to do a same plane turn at LYR with 45 minutes on the ground? Does one disembark into the departure/secure area, or are departing/arriving passengers separated so one has to go through security again?

Requirements for delayed compensation
Can someone confirm the rules to claim compensation for delays due to airplane fault and subsequent change of aircraft. We pushed back from gate on time but electrical fault meant we retuned and then moved to a new plane. We were scheduled to arrive at 0740am but touched down at 1033am inside the 3 hours limit but by time we got to gate, doors went to idle at 1038 but didnt open until 1048 so past the the 3 hour limit. Is it worth putting a claim in? Thanks in advance.

Lounge access for Flying Blue Platinum ex-CDG and beyond

Now that SK is in Skyteam, I will fly them more frequently.
I have one question though:
- do you have experience of lounge access in CDG (2B) which is a third party lounge? Can I bring a guest?
What about ARN and CPH (SK lounges I suspect). Are Skyteam rules applied without fuss (access + guest)?

Question about BA Holiday rules
I have a Flight+Car booking coming soon. The flights are a week apart but only 2 days of car hire. I now don't need the car as much and will want to return the car early by at least a day. Its possible I may not need it at all. . Wondered if anyone knew how BAH operate. Do I need to notify BAH - would they be likely to cancel my return booking if I returned the car early or in the event that I cancelled the whole hire at the desk.

Flights to Hong Kong flying faster for a few days?
I've just received an email saying my flight from DOH to HKG has been re-timed and will be departing 50 minutes later than originally scheduled.
Bizarrely however the arrival time at Hong Kong has not been changed, so the flight time is now shown as 7 hours 35 minutes rather than 8 hours 25 minutes.
Looking at Google Flights, this revised timing seems to continue through to May 1st, but then the flight times and durations revert to what seems to be the norm.
Looking at actual flight timings over the past few days, it looks like the scheduled departure time has been maintained, but the flight has been arriving in Hong Kong up to an hour earlier than scheduled.
No doubt this is due to the current strength of the jet stream, but I've not heard of an airline temporarily adjusting its schedule to take advantage of this effect before. Or is there something else at play?

PE on the leased 777
Question about seating / hard product: we are booked in July for NZ24 AKL-YVR on what looks to be that leased 777 (it has 1-1-1 biz preferred, 1-2-1 biz, and ~4.5 rows of 2-4-2 PE). I've flown in J on that aircraft but not PE so am not familiar with it.
We are booked in Y roundtrip with a return on NZ5 (ordinary 777-300ER with 'economy stretch' available free to us). If you were upgrading 2 adults + 2 kids on only one of the two legs, would you ask for PE on the leased aircraft and Y on NZ5? Or the reverse?
Loadings are light in both directions so I think it will clear either way, but don't feel like spending the APD for both directions. It's been awhile since I've done longhaul in Y (with or without kids) as pretty much everything has either been upgraded or booked in PE or J, so I don't really remember if Economy Stretch makes a big difference (maybe it's the same as the old yellow frequent flier section?),

LHR Terminal 5B to Terminal 5A Airside
Hi all,
Tomorrow I will be at LHR and plan to use the lounge in T5B despite connecting to EDI most likely from T5A.
The reason for doing this is that I suffer from anxiety and any very crowded places often trigger this - so the lounges in T5A for example which are often crowded whereas the lounge in T5B is often much quieter.
It has been quite a long time since I flew from T5 and I was wondering if anyone can remind me how exactly to get from the T5B lounge back to T5A airside without ending up in arrivals? Again, my anxiety means I need to have things like this planned out exactly otherwise I can't relax.
Which lift do I need to get to from T5B down to the walkway? Near which shop / gate is it? And have there been any changes to this arrangement in the past two years?

Virgin Atlantic LAX lounge adds Priority Pass, with $35pp upcharge
VS has a new proposition with its new VS LAX lounge: Pay $35 per person per visit on top of your PP membership, and it comes with full VS lounge access(the full bar, a la carte menu, etc) instead of the 'lite' version of some light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.
I don't know what to think about this - on the one hand, it feels like a slippery slope to PP eventually shifting to a discount lounge access option where you have to pay a fee to enter more and more lounges. On the other, there is absolutely no way the VS Clubhouse would ever accept just PP and provide the full lounge experience without PP seriously increasing their payout (and likely becoming too expensive for cards to offer unlimited PP access).

Whole bunch of new EXP's April 1?
I figured there would be less exp's come April 1. I must of been mistaken. Anyone notice a significant addition of exp's? I am now consistently 12 to 20 on the upgrade list as a exp. No wonder they miase this boarding change to have 1st class preboard, guessing a swell in the exp ranks.

Recurrent CPH-BOS-CPH cancellations
I wondered if anyone knows why SK927/928 from CPH-BOS has now been cancelled two weeks in a row? Today's flight was supposed to be operated on LN-RKN and appears to have been delayed two hours before cancellation. Perhaps a technical issue?

Adjacent seat blocking for golds and ggls
Have BA stopped blocking the adjacent seat for Gold/GGL passengers?
On none of the flights I've booked in the last 6 months (some yet to be flown) have I had an adjacent seat blocked. Admittedly a few of these were quite busy flights, but by no means all.
Some of my upcoming flights are looking quite empty at the moment, but still no sign on expert Flyer that I've had the adjacent seat blocked.
Could it be because nearly all of these flights were/are redemption flights?

JSX to commence APC service to/from So Cal
Probably will be a fortune, but a convenient option to bypass the worst of Bay Area traffic - airport is on the southern end (think American Canyon) of the area.
