AA Canceled Flight With SWU Already Confirmed

I am EXP and for a trip to HND in September, I used SWU's for my family, and all SWU's were confirmed from CVG to BOS and BOS to LAX, and of course all are wait listed on LAX to HND, all flights on AA metal. AA has just canceled our flight from BOS to LAX (where our SWU's were confirmed in Flagship Business on the cross country flight), so with this being the case and already having our SWUs confirmed on the canceled flight (AA has not even notified me of this cancellation yet, it came through my Flighty app and on my trip on the AA app, the BOS to LAX leg is totally gone), would AA do the right thing and put us on flights to get to LAX in Business/ First, as we were all confirmed and AA canceled our flight, through no fault of ours..

I want to know what my 'rights' might be before calling and trying to find 'replacement' flights from CVG to LAX, being as we all had confirmed SWUs on the canceled flight. Thanks for any insight before I call AA and fight the battle.

Qpoints not awarded on ticket purchased directly from Qatar Airways — no warning give

I recently booked two tickets on the official Qatar Airways website. One segment was operated by China Southern Airlines, but I wasn’t informed this would disqualify me from earning Qpoints.

After contacting customer service, I was told “it’s not eligible because it wasn’t operated by QR.”

But there was no warning, no notice during booking. I paid Qatar Airways directly and expected full benefits.

Has anyone else experienced this? I find this very unfair and misleading.

Infant seat in club suites B777-300

For an infant age 8 months travelling in club suites, who won't have his own seat and will be too big for the bassinet cot, can anyone describe how the BA provided infant seat attaches to the suite on the B777-300. The designated seats for infants per the seat plan are 8K and 19 A and K.

Looking for the best AAdvantage Address

Greetings, fellow FT travelers. I'm looking for some assistance about where to write to AA.
I had every intention of claiming 2 Systemwide Upgrades before the expiration date, but I had complications from surgery just before the expiration date to claim them, and I did not claim them in time. Naturally they evaporated.
After recovering enough to get my wits back, I called AA Customer service to tell them what had happened and see if I could get some grace. This year is my 50th wedding anniversary and I was planning on using these two systemwide upgrades along with the other two I have for our anniversary trip. Of course I realize that I don't have any grounds to demand anything, but seeing that I am a 5.88 million miler with AA, having been EXP for more than 30 years, I thought I might find some grace. I don't think I've asked for exceptions from AA more than a couple times since 1989. I recounted my AA history with the customer service rep and shared that I had had surgery just before the deadline and I was incapacitated and missed the deadline and asked if they would help me. The rep responded, "I haven't heard anything that would warrant an exception." I found that response pretty coldhearted. If she had been compassionate and kind in saying "No," I probably would have just said, "Oh, well..." But thinking about it, I think it might be worth a request in writing. Of course, I have no legal ground on which to stand, but thinking about it, I thought I would write a letter following the HUACA principle, someone else might evaluate it. I have been looking at the web site to send something online, but none of the categories that the email engine offers really fit, and I can't find a snail mail address for Customer Service. Can anyone help with a CS snail mail address?

Confused about confirmed booking on SQ

Hello, I'm hoping those of you who are knowledgeable about how SQ functions can help me understand a booking issue. We have booked ten PE tickets on SQ from LAX-SIN-DPS. They are booked on four different PNR's due to different travel dates. Earlier this year, I went to look up a detail on one of the bookings and found that it had changed to "unconfirmed". Per the agent I spoke with, the seats were reserved but not actually ticketed, even though we had paid for seat selections and had the e-tickets and receipts from the booking. After much discussion, I had to repurchase them at the current price. Needless to say, I was perturbed and had the agent (a supervisor, by this time) reconfirm all the other bookings. They were fine at that time.

Today I am downloading all the receipts and etickets that were needed for the evisa application to DPS. I found that another, separate PNR had become "unconfirmed". Same scenario - I call in to the reservations department, they tell me that the seats were reserved but not confirmed because the seat price that I paid for had become unavailable and now I have to pay the new price to confirm the flight. Again, I have the eticket numbers and receipts from the original purchase made through the SQ website.

In all my years of travel I've never dealt with something like this. There have been some minor time changes on the flights, and each time I visit the reservation and accept the time change. Does this automatically mean I accept that I have to buy a new ticket at that time? I'm at a loss to explain what has happened with these bookings.

AVIS Car Hire US Dollars

I am flying LHR to MAN, am a UK resident and used MMB to book a hire car with AVIS. I’ve done this before but don’t remember being charged in US Dollars rather than GBP sterling. The charge hasn’t hit my credit card yet (but I have the ticketed addition from BA).

Is this normal for BA now (being charged in USD)? I was wondering if they were gaming whatever catastrophe is taking place in the US on the currency markets or if that giving them too much credit? It’s a small amount at stake but it doesn’t seem to be in my favour.

I was told recently not to nest luggage inside. We plan to buy some things. We're going to Japan flying from Toronto through LA. Was told that nesting luggage inside is considered suspicious? I don't see any reason that would be.

No special meal available on China Southern

I am flying from BUD to PKX via CAN. It was already painful to order special meals as China Southern's website is trash and nothing works properly. At the end, I was only able to order special meal on the PKX to CAN leg and on the way back both legs to BUD. Thus, I am missing special meal on the PKX-CAN leg as the website said no special meal available. I called the airline and the person on the phone said it is not possible to book and that some cities out of China do not have special meals. But that does not make sense. Has anyone had this happening? Will this change closer to the departure date or am I doomed? I am vegan and thus I know I won't be able to eat anything from the regular food selection. I just do not understand why is this happening.

Haven't seen anything postesed for a while so here's an ok deal...

Saudia business class. Stop over in JED. Flown in their all aisle access lay flat products. I found dates for may, sept, oct out bound and Sept, oct, feb inbound. $2300 kayak.com, also on saudia.com, little pricier. Nice status run as well. Also.found some flights with 3day stop over in Jeddah.

Checking Extra Luggage at Layover Airport – AA Policy?

I’ll be flying on a long-transit domestic itinerary from City A to City C with a layover in City B. After doing some shopping in City B, I’m wondering if it’s possible to check in an additional bag there for the second segment. I have no check-in baggage from City A. If AA allows this, should I select the checked baggage option when checking in via the app before the first leg (A to B)?

Anybody ever seen a 9 seat SUV for EHI? The new Suburbans and Yukons can have a bench seat in front, and thus seat 9. But does Enterprise carry them?
I would love to call and ask but locations don't really give out phone numbers.

Well, technically I think I've been to JB back in 2009 when I crossed the border to take the bus to KL. I'll be back in Singapore later this spring and I think it's time to spend a day or two here. What is the city like for eating and shopping? The plan is to take transit from Singapore. What is the process like now to get to the border and then into JB-proper? Can I use my KL TNG card for the bus/train in JB?
