As a new CX member I am still not so familiar with the best ways and classes to make a booking.
There are flights at about 7200 (total) but these earn no MPC points and of course not up-gradable.
For another 1000 HKD i get 25% miles (not helping get to DM), and still not up gradable.
In order to get full miles total cost is about 14,000. This is up-gradable and flexible as well.
My question(s): As a Gold (given to me when I switched from QF) my opp-ups to PE have been pretty good so far, but they tell me flights are still wide open. Is it too early to read anything into that?
I will get 80-100k MPC points in reg travel so in order to squeeze more points for a shot at DM, I need as many points as I can get. But an extra 1000USD??? makes me consider if it REALLY worth it?
I have the points to upgrade to PE, so $US1000 extra iswould be worth it for that, assuming that I wouldn't have otherwise been upgraded how can I know?
Lastly I upgrade on points can it happen that I get oped-up to J?? Or, will there never seat you more than one class above what you paid for?
Thanks!
